History of the Rolex Watch Company (2)

He had a strong focus on the Watch Museum - the study of the creation of timepieces - Rolex-. His first work was so successful, he was three watches, not the strict accuracy test to pass. After this first success, decided to start his own watch company. His British partner Alfred Davis later married his younger sister, turning the company into a family affair. Wilsdorf and Davis Ltd was registered as "Rolex" in Switzerland in 1908 and later in London in 1912.

The name 'Rolex' was chosen because it was clear, easy to spell and easy to speak in different languages. On 15 November 1915 Wilsdorf and Davis Ltd. officially renamed "The Rolex Watch Company Ltd." The company was later renamed and Montres Rolex SA, the company finally we now know as Rolex, SA.
